Flame retardant and anti static hi vis vests are useful for people who require to have electrostatic protection from sparks or arcing when in the workplace. People like petro chemical workers or offshore, or even tanker drivers may need anti static hi vis vests. These vests have fine carbon woven through the material to constantly reduce the risk of sparks or electrostatic discharge and prevent flash or combustion. The EN ISO 1149 specifies a set test to the material that makes protective workwear (or gloves) that dissipates electrostatic.
